Carolina Vennie (MBA’11) is the founder and owner of Yogaleena Studio, a boutique yoga studio in the heart of Houston, Texas, offering a variety of group classes and workshops to help students release tension, connect with their authentic selves, and live with purpose and joy. She discovered yoga in 2008 while working full time at ExxonMobil and pursuing her MBA at Georgetown University. The practice radically decreased her stress levels and offered her the mental space and clarity to figure out what she really wanted to do with her life. Yogaleena Studio opened January 2016 and has grown into a vibrant community of students looking for balance and personal growth. Vennie is a registered yoga teacher with over 1,000 hours of teaching experience. She’s also a mom to two boys, Lucas (3) and Matias (1), and her sweet fur baby, Bella (8).
About Yogaleena Studio
Based in Houston, Texas, Yogaleena Studio is a cozy, whimsical, non-heated studio with a mission to offer a retreat from the everyday and a practice that invigorates all of the senses. To Yogaleena, yoga is more than a trendy exercise movement, it’s a lifestyle that celebrates self-love, creativity, mindfulness, and connection. Asana and pranayama (yoga poses and breath-work) are considered access points to a deeper understanding of the self, and the practice of yoga can be a journey towards connecting with your own divinity. Flexibility, strength, and balance are all positive side-effects of a consistent practice, but they are not the goal. The studio’s teaching style is relaxed, playful, and for all levels, from brand newbies to advanced yogis. The focus is on intention, authenticity, and present-moment awareness — the tools you need to boldly occupy your life with purpose, ease, and joy.
