SUMMARY:Virtual Cooking Class with Lazy Susan Kitchen
DESCRIPTION:Register for event >\nEvent capacity: 10 \nSuggested donation supporting the university’s COVID-19 response and student financial aid: $50 \nFind new inspiration in the kitchen\, and perhaps learn some new skills during our evening cooking session. At the end\, you’ll have a great meal to enjoy for your efforts! Join Lazy Susan Kitchen for a virtual cooking class on Fresh from the Farmstand\, where you will make seared sirloin steaks with salsa verde and a farro salad with tomatoes\, lemon\, parmesan\, and pistachios. \nWhat you’ll need\nWe’ll send a shopping list a few days beforehand\, and a short prep list prior to the start of the class. Then you can watch and follow along\, perhaps with a cocktail in hand! \n  \n\n  \nHost bio\n \nDonna Laveran (C’93) is a cooking instructor\, private chef\, and menu developer based in Haverford\, Pennsylvania. She is the owner of Lazy Susan Kitchen\, which provides bespoke cooking services to local clients and emphasizes fresh\, fashion-forward food. Menus are carefully crafted to include seasonally appropriate\, sophisticated options. Vegetable-centric meals are a particular interest\, but she is versed in all areas of cooking. She particularly enjoys giving lessons – both private and group – to adults\, teens\, and children. Classes are offered for beginner to advanced levels and are generally three-four hours. (Check out the upcoming schedule of classes\, or get in touch to customize one suited to your personal tastes.) Leveran is a wife and mother who turned a passion for home cooking into a part-time career. She is a graduate of the Leiths School of Food & Wine in London\, England. \nAbout Summer Sessions: Alumni Virtual Experiences\nJoin us for our new alumni virtual experiences program\, Summer Sessions! Summer Sessions showcase Hoya alumni chefs\, artists\, entertainers\, athletes\, florists\, entrepreneurs\, and more\, all through curated\, live Zoom sessions. \nEach alumni host is sharing a talent while bringing together our Hoya community to support the university. Your participation in these experiences provide you with a light and lively activity during the summer and\, through the suggested donation\, directly and immediately strengthen your alma mater. \nDonations received as part of Summer Sessions alumni virtual experiences will support the 90 Days with Georgetown initiative and Georgetown’s two crucial priorities: the university’s COVID-19 response and student financial aid. \nStay tuned\, new experiences will be added weekly! Join fellow Hoyas for a Summer Session this July & August!
