DESCRIPTION:Register for event >\nEvent capacity: 50 \nSuggested donation supporting the university’s COVID-19 response and student financial aid: $25 \nWhether you are a dedicated gym-goer\, runner\, or just want to live a healthy lifestyle\, good nutrition is vital for performance in our workouts and day-to-day life. Join Taylor Barros\, Georgetown’s director of sports nutrition\, for a lesson on what are the best foods to eat before and after a workout\, what foods to avoid\, and the timing for each. She will even share some of her favorite post-workout plates! \n  \n\n  \nHost bio\n \nTaylor Barros\, R.D.\, LDN\, is the director of sports nutrition at Georgetown University. After earning her bachelor’s degree in dietetic science from Florida State University and becoming a registered dietitian\, she became one of 10 sports dietitians to earn a prestigious fellowship through Gatorade’s Sports Science Institute. Upon completion of her fellowship\, Barros became a nutrition coach at IMG Academy where she was the sports dietitian for the football\, basketball\, and tennis teams. Transitioning back into collegiate athletics\, she served as the sports dietitian for soccer\, rowing\, golf\, men’s basketball\, and men’s swimming and diving at The University of Texas. Currently Barros is working on completing her MBA while serving as the sports dietitian for all 29 teams at Georgetown University. \nAbout Georgetown Summer Sessions\nJoin us for our new alumni virtual experiences program\, Summer Sessions! Summer Sessions showcase Hoya alumni chefs\, artists\, entertainers\, athletes\, florists\, entrepreneurs\, and more\, all through curated\, live Zoom sessions. \nEach alumni host is sharing a talent while bringing together our Hoya community to support the university.
