SUMMARY:Performance Training Session with Georgetown Athletics
DESCRIPTION:Register for event >\nEvent capacity: 50 \nSuggested donation supporting the university’s COVID-19 response and student financial aid: $25 \nLevel up your at-home workouts and train like a Division I athlete with Michael Hill (G’10)\, Georgetown’s associate athletics director of sports performance. He will lead you through a one-hour strength training session\, sharing how to design a balanced session\, demonstrating workout movements/techniques\, and covering at-home tips you can easily follow in your own workouts. \nWhat you’ll need\n\nSpace or Mat to train\ntowel\nwater bottle\nweights (kettlebells\, dumbbells\, weight plates\, or household objects)\nany type of band\nmedicine ball\n\n  \n\n  \nHost bio\n \nMichael Hill (G’10) is currently the associate athletics director of sports performance\, working specifically with men’s basketball while overseeing the development of all 29 sports. In May 2017 Hill was recognized as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) which is the highest honor a strength coach can achieve. In 2014 the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) named Hill one of the top four collegiate strength and conditioning coaches in the country. He had previously worked in California as a fitness manager at 24 Fitness before moving to the Washington\, D.C.\, area where he has also worked with Episcopal High School\, Potomac High School\, and The Catholic University of America. Hill has a bachelor’s of arts in health promotions and a minor in coaching from the University of Northern Iowa while also holding a master’s degree in sports industry management (SIM) from Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies. \nAbout Summer Sessions: Alumni Virtual Experiences\nJoin us for our new virtual experiences program\, Summer Sessions!
