SUMMARY:Meditation with Georgetown Athletics Chaplain
DESCRIPTION:Register for event >\nEvent capacity: 50 \nSuggested donation supporting the university’s COVID-19 response and student financial aid: $25 \nThe Ignatian motto “For the Greater Glory of God” is often translated as “authentic human flourishing.” In this unprecedented time of global crisis\, the ability to thrive and flourish may not seem easy to access\, but contemplative practices like meditation offer a path to center oneself even the most difficult of days. Join Tony Mazurkiewicz\, Chaplain for Athletics\, for this guided meditation session designed to connect you with your own heart and mind at a deeper level. No experience is necessary. All are welcome. \n  \n\n  \nHost bio\n \nTony Mazurkiewicz serves as the Chaplain for Athletics and the senior advisor to the John Main Center for Meditation and Inter-Religious Dialogue at Georgetown University. Prior to Georgetown\, Mazurkiewicz served for five years as the president of Mount Carmel High School in Chicago\, Illinois. He has over 20 years of ministerial experience including teaching meditation in a variety of settings throughout the country including K-12 schools\, parishes\, and retreat centers. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his Master of Divinity degree from the Washington Theological Union. He is trained in Spiritual Director and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. He also teaches a Soul of Leadership program through the Shalem Institute. \nAbout Summer Sessions: Alumni Virtual Experiences\nJoin us for our new alumni virtual experiences program\, Summer Sessions! Summer Sessions showcase Hoya alumni chefs\, artists\, entertainers\, athletes\, florists\, entrepreneurs\, and more\, all through curated\, live Zoom sessions. \nEach alumni host is sharing a talent while bringing together our Hoya community to support the university. Your participation in these experiences provide you with a light and lively activity during the summer and\, through the suggested donation\, directly and immediately strengthen your alma mater. \nDonations received as part of Summer Sessions alumni virtual experiences will support the 90 Days with Georgetown initiative and Georgetown’s two crucial priorities: the university’s COVID-19 response and student financial aid. \nStay tuned\, new experiences will be added weekly! Join fellow Hoyas for a Summer Session this July & August!
