As the daughter of impresario Walter Pierce\, who presented classical music and dance in Boston\, she at an early age fell in love with contemporary companies like Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Dance Theatre of Harlem. Keefe studied and performed with the Boston Ballet before attending Georgetown University\, where she graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Fine Arts and American Government. She then worked in the busy film industry in Los Angeles and continued to dance and practice yoga. As the mother of two energetic sons\, Keefe started teaching at a local ballet studio in Alexandria\, Virginia\, and opened Go Bananas Dancing LLC in 2009. Keefe continues to take classes herself and particularly enjoys modern dance. She has performed in the D.C. area with Jane Franklin Dance’s 40+ dance troupe as well as Ms. Sue Skaddan’s Helping Hearts through the Arts. \nAbout Go Bananas Dancing LLC\nGo Bananas Dancing LLC was founded in 2009 out of Susannah Keefe’s passion for keeping kids active and healthy. Her focus was (and still is): “Exercise\, Learning and Fun! Body\, Mind and Spirit.” Go Bananas Dancing LLC started as a school enrichment program. “Ms. Susannah” taught creative movement and pre-ballet in local preschools. Soon she became a contractor for Arlington County Parks and Recreation in Virginia. Through that great partnership and partnerships with the nearby Falls Church and Alexandria recreation departments\, Go Bananas Dancing has grown to provide over 30 dance classes per week. Go Bananas Dancing cherishes diversity and inclusion. In Go Bananas classes\, everyone is treated fairly and equally. Those with special needs are welcome to join classes. Go Bananas Dancing has a close relationship with Arlington County’s Therapeutic Recreation Department.
